DAVID FRY

Web developer and technology strategist with 20 years of experience

David began building websites before the invention of graphical browsers, creating a text-based website on university servers in 1994. He gained his first paid client in 1996. In 1999, he joined a political consulting company providing websites to major political figures and organizations. Moving to Hawaiʻi in 2002, he went back into private practice before joining StarrTech Interactive, the state’s largest web development team. At StarrTech, he was the lead developer on projects for the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, KGMB and KHON, the Honolulu Advertiser and Hilton Hawaiian Village. He left StarrTech in 2007 to work as a Legislative Aide for Hawaiʻi House Majority Leader Kirk Caldwell. In 2008, he formed Tanuki Interactive, quickly gaining traction with political campaigns and PR initiatives in Honolulu. Fry earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Administration from the Foster College of Business at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He is proficient with PHP, ColdFusion, JavaScript, CSS, WordPress, web analytics, streaming video, email distribution, pay-per-click advertising, and many other technologies. Fry was a member of the core team for Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign in Hawaii and served as President of the Young Democrats of Hawaii from 2008 to 2010. He currently serves on the board of a 501(c)(12) community water company.

SUE FRY

Marketing strategist and project manager with 25 years of experience in the advertising industry

Sue previously worked as VP of Client Services at the largest advertising agency in Hawaiʻi, Laird Christianson Advertising within the Anthology Marketing Group in Honolulu. There she worked on major accounts including, Hawaiian Airlines, where she led the client service team for the agency providing advertising, marketing, branding. Her team worked on the launch of the airline’s expanded service to international markets including Japan, Philippines, Sydney, and Korea. She also worked with some of Hawaiʻi’s top resorts and hotels in the hospitality industry: Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Princeville Resort, Prince Hotels and Resorts and Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in Hawaii. After moving to Maui, she worked at Gilbert & Associates adding retail accounts to her curriculum vitae with an emphasis on promotional support and event marketing for an upscale shopping destination in the luxury resort area of Wailea, The Shops at Wailea. She also worked on the Stanford Carr Development account based on Oahu, providing advertising, marketing, and branding support to residential communities in Hawaii. Sue earned her Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa and her Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in e-Business from the University of Phoenix.
